The story of Κονδύλη
I was asked to write a short description of my beautiful daughter Christina – Vassiliki , to integrate the personal stories of emotional content , the site of our club . I believe that these stories would be a book called learning opportunity for all people .
My own angel born on 01.10.1991 , after there had been a perfect pregnancy and a perfect delivery. From the first time was the dream of every parent. A girl of rare beauty weight 3150 , with brown hair and gray-green eyes .
It was the quietest baby and then a child of the world . So quiet that while initially it suits us , in our journey concerned us . But they was all in the “plan” .
When the little princess reached her eight month of life, she was not able to sit , but she could roll and say little words , compared to the eldest daughter and other babies picked out a late development. An respiratory infection was the reason to wake us up and yet to get suspicious . Pediatricians notice the first alarming indication which was the constant perimeter of the skull and then a relaxed and subdued baby. Their proposal was an introduction to a children’s hospital for a medical evaluation, checking her nervous system and the hypotony. Then, the whole store was begun.
The first part of the project was already in action. She was dignosed a psychomotor retardation of unknown reason. At the 18 months of our smallish, doctors was initially referred of a syndrome called RETT.
Some spasms although came into with low intensity and last. Our visits to doctors specialized in neurology became then a daily habit .
The hope and expectation of the illusion , the belief and the need to listen to something different maybe …. Futile and disheartening result , all views converged unequivocally RETT.
The jumble of emotions were indescribable , but the acceptance of the child’s health problem was immediate. Vassiliki(Vassoula as her nickname) entered a rehabilitation plan and conservation of nine months in a special center on a daily basis ( physiotherapy , speech therapy , occupational therapy and special education ) . We wanted the best for her, as far as possible , of course . Unwittingly our little daughter had managed to take the lead from the bigger one, who was at the sideline . There ‘s another little girl in the family who was needed love , care and servicing daily needs .
As time went by , our priceless was losing more and more her ability to crawling in a roll and communicate significantly. She continued to be interested in games but had a difficulty catching , and biscuits which was her favorite sweets, was falling from her hands to. The dexterity of her hands was disappeared and their only usefulness was now mouthing . The ability to speak decreased , but her eyes, those wonderful expressive eyes, were speechfull and could say it all . Within thesecould painted all her feelings .
Sometimes having light naps, sometimes laughing and sometimes crying . I remember that I read somewhere that these girls could talk with angels . They laugh when other talk about love to them and the the adoration they receive and cry because they cannot respond when we express our feelings .
All are part of the plan. We know that she will never become a doctor, teacher or worker at least. Her mission is different. Her mission is to provide the best in people. To show what is really important in life. To show what a selfless love and companionship is, even if she does not ever keep up with the data of this world .
Finally I have to say to parents and teachers, that love, care and deep respect for these girls and their world for their personal weaknesses and abilities , you will be able to learn a lot .
I thank my daughter for what she has been taught me all these years .
Thank god for having these child.
I also thank my other child for stoicism and support through all of these years .
Thank my partner and companion of my life, because he is always beside me .
I feel proud and blessed for living what I claimed to live.
