The story of Therese
My story is about my husband, John, and his three sisters, Lora, Marcia and Cindy. The siblings each had a 50/50 chance of inheriting the mutated Huntington’s gene, a progressive, protracted brain deadly disorder; Huntingtons disease that has no cure. And it strikes early, usually between 30 and 45. It steals everything from you; your ability to walk, talk and reason. It’s described as alzheimers, ALS and Parkinson’s disease all rolled up in one. My three friends, my s-i-l’s, died from it and John and I cared for them. John is the surviving sibling from this insidious rare disease.
