The story of Zane
I was diagnosed with a severe case of Superior Mesenteric Artery Syndrome in Austin, TX on 11/26/2010.
I spent three weeks in three hospitals and finally had a friend pick me up nearly dead and drive me to DFW right into Rouen-Y surgery that saved my life. I have never been the same after that day and losing 45 lbs and my stomach was so distended (swollen) the ER doctor told me it was close to bursting. My stomach is damaged now from the muscles being stretched so far and I suffer daily with severe pain and fatigue. It truly is the most mysterious gastro disorder to mankind and medical society.
Since 2010 I have been to numerous specialists and to date Mt primary is the only one that somewhat understands the syndrome because of me educating him and he treating and actually seeing firsthand how I suffer. But I can tell you as everyone that has SMAS you are a true warrior and fighter and giving up is not even in your thoughts.
I pray that the world becomes more educated and especially the medical society for SMAS.
To all of the SMAS beautiful and special people may God overlook you all everyday and may he restore your faith on life and may you live life daily like it’s your last!
God bless to you all!
