The Courage to keep going despite the diagnosis

The story of Narah

I had symptoms of the disease since I was a child burning in the skin, nerve pain, headaches and hearing loss.

After a lot of misdiagnosis I gave up even though I knew something was wrong with my body.

In December 2022, after doing a leg press at the gym with a personal trainer my pain and numbness that seemed always “under control”, meaning I dealt with them and learned to live with them were unbearable. I could not even walk for days. Besides that I was swelling more than I normally did.

First I was diagnosed with polineuropathy and then after a DNA test on June 1st, 2023 I was officially diagnosed with Fabry Disease.

I was grieving afterwards until I got proper treatment and support what gave me the hope and courage to keep going despite the diagnosis.
