The story of Kayleigh
After having my gallbladder removed in Feb 2014 my symptoms got worse. I was then diagnosed with sod. My body cannot cope with the bile that now just constantly runs through my body. The sphincter close to my bile duct goes into spasm causing horrendous pain in my stomach and back it also causes vomiting. Its lime having a gallbladder attack with out the gallbladder! Its ruined my life. I have gone from an active working mother of two. To an unemployed part time mum. The sod has also bought on fibromyalgia so I’m in constant pain with my muscles and joints. I also have a lot of pins and needles and numbness in my body. I also noe suffer with short term memory loss, total exhaustion and headaches. My sod flares up at least once a week and most of the tone I have to go to hospital to have strong medication. They have not yet found medication that helps me at home. Sadly there is no cure for either of my conditions. I have had a few procedures done but some made it worse so I have ran out of surgical options. I’m now trying to get an inpatient stay to do a pain management programme so I can cope better. I am very limited as to what I can eat nothing high in fat, nothing spicey, I can’t eat fruit or uncooked veggies, I can’t eat anything too processed and I can only eat a small amount of meat. I also cannot drink fruitjuice and alcohol. I now suffer badly with depression as I have to let so many people down by having to cancel things at the last minute. So now I don’t go out much and even of I do I have to stay local just in case.. Medical research suggests that only 1% of people that have a gallbladder removed has complications bit through Facebook groups and hospital experience I feel its a lot higher than this and more research needs to be done so that people know about these risks. They also need more research so that people like myself can have a better quality of life I’m only 28 and I hope one day I can return to work, have my kid fulltime and so I can feel likr I’m back making contributions to our community.
