The story of Natalie
As a kid, I was always 3 steps ahead – always leaping into action or planning my days hour by hour. And as I grew into my teenage years, this is when I started to experience symptoms. Sometimes it would be a stomach ache, other times I would sit at the toilet and hope that I wouldn’t expel today’s dinner. Well, after 3 long years of suffering from this mystery illness that no doctor could diagnose, I was diagnosed with Idiopathic Late Stage Dumping Syndrome. Basically about 2 hours after I eat, my stomach decided to empty all of its contents into my small intestine, literally dumping. This causes nausea, heat flashes, blood sugar spikes and lows, and many more debilitating symptoms. Living with this disease is hard, there is barely and information about it on the internet and every single doctor I have seen has never heard or had a patient with it before. I hope that this disease has more awareness and one day that we can find either a helpful treatment and hopefully a cure.
