The story of Mindy
August 18 2000 the nursery nurse brought me my baby boy and said to me I have held a lot of babies but there’s something special about him
She didn’t know how right she was
Alex was discounted at 1 year old with Evans Syndrome a rare autoimmune blood disease
This disease is a roller coaster with no cure
Alex amazed everyone he met from friends, family and hospital staff Alex was so strong and so brave it’s was unbelievable
having this disease his whole life never stopped him he chose to live life to the fullest and laugh and love and be happy
Many didn’t even know how sick he was
This was Alex
we saw another side of Evans Syndrome we had never seen
My son suffered for 10 weeks in the hospital and passed away April 14 2015
This disease robbed my son my family of a precious boy who only wanted to live a healthy life
Who never asked for anything and always did whatever was asked with bravery and courage
He was only 14 but old beyond his years
So smart and cared others over himself
Alex knew life was short and this I truly believe
He had a purpose he was an angel here on earth teaching so much to so many and still teaching
Alex completed me and my life he was my best friend and soul mate and if I can help any family struggling with this terrible disease then my sons life was not in vain …
I truly never thought Alex would be taken I’m truly devastated and still in shock
I hope one day a cute will be found for this horrible disease …
I will tell your story Alex to help another
Your were just a boy but you left a man
I love you Alex Vazquez
You are a true hero
