Noemí with Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy

The story of Noemí

My name is Noemí, I am 24 years old and I live in Spain.

I suffered from this disease since 2015, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome is a disease that affects the sympathetic nerve and produces a lot of pain among other things. In my case the cause is unknown and since the day that appeared I have not been able to walk again. At first the disease affected my right foot and now also affects other extremities. Then I use a wheelchair to move.

Currently there is no cure for this disease although you can improve our quality of life. Medicines as strong as morphine, rehabilitation and physiotherapy, including sympathetic nerve blocks, are used for improve our quality of life. In my case for the moment nothing calms my pain.

However I have learned that I am more corageous than I thought. In addition, I have learned that I am strong and that minor problems do not matter. Of course I have also learned from solidarity.

I want to say goodbye as I always do when I write about my experience with this disease: ¡¡Hasta el Sudeck!! 😉
