The story of Esmeralda
After 30 yrs of weight issues and hypoglycemic and hyperinsulinemic episodes, I learned through a endocrine researchist that I had non-insulinoma pancreatogenic hypoglycemic hyperinsulinemia, which was from having nesidioblastosis since child birth. For most of my teen/adult life I was called fat, lazy and by doctors and anyone with an opinion. After learning about my disease, I’ve had two pancreatic surgeries and the Whipple procedure trying to help my condition. Now I am a pancreatic diabetic and suffer from many health issues. My daughter is now showing symptoms of my disease and I want people to be aware of this very rare disease. I want my daughter to have more help and medical options to help her than I have had. Please raise awareness and think outside the box, people are sometimes dealing with more than you think.
