The story of Alanna

Hi I’m Alanna I’m 17 and I live in the Uk .

I suffer from autism, anxiety but mostly CRPS. I have CRPS in my right arm and hand and have had it for 2 and a half years. My hand was locked in a fist for about 9 months due to me CRPS but now for the past 6 months ive been getting full movement because of physio every 2 weeks.

 We aren’t really sure what caused it we don’t know if it was a injury I did when I was 6 or from surgery 3 years ago. This means it effects me in different ways which means I haven’t left the house properly in 2-3 years, the only places I’ve been has been to school or college but only if I feel well enough as I’m in pain 24/7 or the doctors if I’m having a flare up or to chase up hospital appointments. I’ve lost all my friends, been bullied and still am. im having to re takle my english and maths GCSEs because i missed so much for the past 3 years. Here in the UK is very difficult to have treatment as the U.K. don’t really recognise it. So I don’t really get treatment. I’m so glad that I have people in the same boat as me as sometimes you think it’s only you.

 

What has helped me though for the last year is Ferocious Fighters. As they around the same age as you they know what your going through. not only that but you make friends and can ask for advice.
