The story of Matthew

Meet my mum. She has a disease called Huntingdon’s Disease (HD). Like all rare diseases, it is cruel as it gradually robs the sufferer of all things we hold dear… memories, emotions and movement.
HD is a genetic disease, so I also have a 50% chance of developing it and if I do then my children may do as well.
However cruel HD is, it can’t rob sufferer’s and their families of love and hope.
This is what my Mum taught me growing up. No matter what you are faced with all you need is love and a smile!
Rare Disease’s maybe rare, but love and hope is not.
