My Life W/ Panhypopituitarism

The story of Ethan

Hello my name is Ethan. I was born on September 6,2019 in San Antonio, Texas. I was born with Panhypopituitarism, Congenital Hypothyroidism, and Adrenal Insufficiency. I had a great team at Methodist Stone Oak that did so many exams on me in the NICU. I had lost 22 percent of my birth weight the first 2 days after birth and my blood sugar kept dropping. My parents were told that as I grow I might get more insufficiencies due to my pituitary gland. I was born with a pituitary gland but it partially works so I need help with certain things like maintaining my blood sugar, growth, hormone therapy, thyroid. I  have to check my blood sugar frequently. I’m also on testosterone injections, growth hormone injections, hydrocortisone medication and levothyroxin medication. Right now I require PT and OT just to make sure my milestones are on track with everyone else.  I also have sleep apnea central and obstructive. I recently got surgery to help with my obstructive apnea.  Me and my family are learning as I grow more and more about my condition I have such a great support team and I’m so happy to have them by my side.
