The story of Nadine
Maël was born in 2015 with a rare disease called Geleophysic Dysplasia. Less than 80 cases are reported across the world. Each case is unique but all are affected by dwarfism. Maël has the severe form of the disease. Breathing problems, such as a stenosis of the trachea for which he has a tracheostomy since his 15 months . He also has lungs that are tired from the disease so he spends a lot of time on a ventilator. He has a mechanical heart valve also since his 15 months because his mitral valve was very small! He lost his sight in 2019. But despite all that, he doesn’t lose his smile and his desire to discover many beautiful things!
