The story of Rukaya
Zion is 9 months old and he has been diagnosed with lissencephaly and microcephaly. He has a small head and smooth brain. He first got diagnosed when he was 4 months. We found out because one day he had a seizure and when they did tests his MRI showed lissencephaly. He suffers with seizures and is NG tube fed (waiting for peg operation) as he has just developed minor respiritory problems and reflux. He’s behind on all his physical milestones. He is unable to hold his head up or sit up unaided but he’s excellent as communicating and loves to socialise and talk to people!Â
