The story of Jessica
Im a woman, 45 years old living in Sweden. I was diagnosed with IPH; idiopathic pulmonary hemosiderosis in june 2015. I have suffered from severe anemic episodes since 2007. In November of 2014 I had my first bloody cough, I was hospitalized with oxygen for a week. The search for the cause took 6 months excluding all other diseases. In may 2015 I underwent a so called BAL wich confirmed IPH. I had a setback in aug 2015 with a new bleed, hospitalized again for a week with oxygen. I am currently on prednisone and azathioprine doing well. 1 in 4 million gets this disease,the outcome/prognosis is unknown.
