The story of Hiba
Hiba is living with Morquio syndrome or Mucopolysaccharidosis type 4 (MPS4).
At the age of 9 years old she was diagnosed with the disease; after many years of several doctor visits.
She suffered multi-organ symptoms such as respiratory problems, cardiac issues and severe short stature.
The cause of the disease is the inability of the body to break down long chains of sugar molecules called glycosaminoglycans. She used her disease as a positive motivation to spread awareness. She is active in social media and uses her instagram page to advocate about rare diseases especially MPS4.
