The story of Cathy
It started with terrible back pain which I ignored until I could not sleep. MRI’s, PET Scans, biopsy confirmed it was osteosarcoma. At Vanderbilt, it was determined by doctors, that I needed a severe surgery that would prevent me from ever walking again. Fortunately, they were able to save my left leg but amputated my left pelvis and hip. That was 2/23/2004. I had just turned 48. Numerous chemo treatments left me near death on a number of occasions. Now, I walk with a walker and crutches. I can drive and swim (with a child’s floatie on my ankle.). Most importantly, I am still alive and have been cancer free since my hemipelvectomy. 18 years. Praise God and those that prayed for me.
