Georgia’s story (MRKH type 2)

The story of Georgia

My 9 years old daughter Georgia lives with MRKH type 2, which is the more severe type of the disease.
Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser (MRKH) syndrome type 2, a form of MRKH syndrome, is characterized by congenital aplasia of the uterus and upper 2/3 of the vagina that is associated with at least one other malformation such as renal, vertebral, or, less commonly, auditory and cardiac defects.
Georgia has a left solitary ectopic kidney which is not working properly, she has no uterus, she has no vagina and her ovaries are also ectopic.
Painting and tennis are the favorite things that Georgia does. As parents, seeing Georgia painting and playing tennis is so special and honestly our hearts break when we watch it. For anyone else it is something you can watch a child do and then keep doing what you do , but for us it is much more – is to watch it have the ability to move and live, to smile and to be happy in that moment. Georgia’s little sister is very proud of her, she likes to play and paint with her.
Georgia knows everything about her health. She knows that her kidney may not function well, she may not be able to receive any treatment, she may not be able to have a transplant due to her displaced position and she is not yet on dialysis and stands upright and thanks to the Archangel Michael!
