The story of Aliviya
Hey everyone! My name is Aliviya, I am 10 months old and I have Unilateral Polymicrogyria (PMG) which is a rare congenital brain defect. PMG affects my right side of the brain (you know the part of the brain that controls the left side of your body) in 3 different lobes: My parietal, temporal and frontal lobes. My left side of my body doesn’t work like my right side does. I have what’s called cerebral palsy because of my PMG. It’s all okay though because all that I really need in this world is my mommy, daddy and big sister who love me so much and don’t mind waiting on me to grow and learn! There’s not much else the doctors can tell us about this disease. It is pretty much a wait and see kind of thing. I keep my mom and dad busy, I make them drive me to all of my appointments and therapies! They are working really hard and making sure I am set up to be whatever I want to be when I grow up! One day, I hope to be whatever I want to be, until then the only thing I want to be is to be treated like a baby and to be loved ❤️
