About Source Foundation
Since our foundation’s establishment in 2013 by parents who recognized the challenges faced by one of the most marginalized and underserved groups in society, we have been dedicated to improving the lives and well-being of children with disabilities, advocating for their families’ rights, and addressing mental health through globally recognized standards of care.
Recently, we launched a program focused on rare diseases in Armenia. In February 2022, we organized a comprehensive training session for rehabilitation specialists, bringing together experienced doctors and developmental pediatricians. A total of 96 specialists from Yerevan and the regions participated, with 80 successfully completing the training and receiving 30 CME credits from the Ministry of Health. As part of our efforts, we successfully developed Armenia’s first adopted Rare Disease Guideline, covering eight rare diseases.
As part of our ongoing commitment to raising awareness about rare diseases, we are planning a full-day event in honor of Rare Disease Awareness Day. This event will be organized under the Rare Disease Organization’s flag, and we will be proud to prominently mention your organization during the event to highlight our collective effort in raising awareness about rare diseases. The event will bring together key stakeholders, including high-ranking officers from government and non-government institutions, international organizations, key experts, and caregivers. The goal is to emphasize the importance of training and awareness in rare diseases and to discuss future possibilities. Additionally, we will present the first designed, adopted, and published Rare Disease Guideline in Armenian during the event.
