Sickle Cell Disease Association of America’s mission is to advocate for people affected by sickle cell conditions and empower community-based organizations to maximize quality of life and raise public consciousness while advancing the search for a universal cure. Sickle cell is a rare disease affecting 100,000 individuals in the United States and millions more globally. On Rare Disease Day, we will use our voice and platform to build awareness about the importance of research/clinical trials, therapies and curative treatments that help to improve the quality of life for those living with a rare disease.
