About NIHR BioResource
The National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) BioResource facilitates vital health research into a wide range of common and rare diseases. Our Rare Diseases BioResource recruits patients across England to participate in health research studies investigating the links between our genes, the environment, health and disease. We are a key part of the UK Government’s Rare Diseases Action Plan and one of four key infrastructure in the Life Sciences Industrial Strategy. For Rare Disease Day 2023, we are working with the Department for Health and Social Care on the release of the 2nd Rare Diseases Action Plan for England.
