About Lupus Alert
Lupus Alert started its activities 15 years ago focusing on the Lupus disease. Our NGO has branched out and is now also focusing on autoimmune and other rare diseases which run in families. At the Lupus Alert Centre we provide support to patients with rare diseases such as Pulmonary Artery Hypertension, Raynaud Syndrome, Crohn’s Disease, Sjorgren Syndrome, Nephrotic Syndrome, Behcet Disease, Wilson Disease, Still Disease, Celiac Disease, Addison’s disease, Cushings, etc, etc… Lupus Alert regularly comes across the fact that policy and decision makers and many health professionals in Mauritius know very little about rare diseases. Every year for rare disease day raise awareness amongst the general public and decision-makers about rare diseases and their impact on patients’ lives.
