About Austin 1st Foundation
We are a public non-profit charity aimed at raising awareness and research dollars for those affected by Rare Diseases in Alabama and beyond. A1F was founded in memory of Austin Terling, who passed away at only 9 years old from a rare brain disease caused by a mutation in the UBA5 gene. Each year on RDD we encourage all of our followers to take a picture/video wearing blue or zebra print to show their support for the rare disease community. We also have schools in Alabama and North Carolina that teach their students about rare diseases on RDD each year.
