About Association of patients with multiple myeloma, myelodysplastic syndrome and other rare blood diseases in Bosnia and Herzegovina (Myeloma in BiH)
Association Myeloma in BiH is an organization dedicated to providing support to patients with multiple myeloma, myelodysplastic syndrome and other rare blood diseases, as well as their families in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was founded at the end of 2016. The association strictly adheres to the Law on Associations and Foundations of Bosnia and Herzegovina (Official Gazette of Bosnia and Herzegovina, No. 94/16), and all its activities are based on non-profit principles, with an emphasis on voluntary engagement of members. The goal of the association is to provide comprehensive support to patients in order to make it easier for them to cope with the disease and improve the quality of their lives. Through the organization of various educations, encouraging the active involvement of patients and their family members in the treatment process, and supporting the exchange of treatment experiences, the association promotes the common interests of patients before health authorities, pharmaceutical companies, institutions and other participants in the treatment process.
In accordance with this, the Association activities include advocating for raising public awareness of rare diseases and improving the position of patients in society.
As part of its goals, the Association strives to promote the development and application of new approaches and modern medicines and advocates equal and appropriate treatment of all patients in all health institutions in the country.
