Thai Rare Disease Foundation Organized Event
To campaign for sustainable development in caring for patients with rare diseases
The 14th Rare Disease Day Thailand Event will be held on Sunday, March 3rd, 2024 at Pathumwan Princess Hotel Bangkok, from 8:30 am – 4:00 pm. This event is organized by The Rare Disease Foundation Thailand (ThaiRDF), Communities of rare disease families, Specialists in the field of rare diseases, The Rare Disease Medical Centers, The National Health Security Office (NHSO), The Ministry of Public Health and the National List of Essential Medicines. The aims are to raise public awareness, to build a strong network of patients’ groups, to provide opportunities for direct communication to the Government, stakeholders and patient groups, and to monitor policy progress in rare disease care systems.
This year, the Minister of Public Health (or representative) will give the opening speech. The interesting topics all day include, Rare diseases policy from the Ministry of Public Health, NHSO Rare Diseases Policy and future trends, Rare Disease Patient Champion, discussion about “Progress and direction of work of the Rare Disease Joint Working Group, NHSO and the National List of Essential Medicines”, The role of HITAP and criteria for considering rare diseases, How patients with rare diseases can access diagnosis, treatment, and prevention in the existing benefits, Benefits that are being promoted and should continue to be promoted in the future, Access to diagnosis and treatment in alternative pathway, and New techniques to diagnose patients with undiagnosed diseases.
