TFRD Soccer Match
10 March 2018
Hosted by Taiwan Foundation For Rear Disorders
Although February 28 is most popularly known as a Memorial Day for Taiwanese, it is also internationally respected as “International Rare Disease Day.” From 2009, Taiwan Foundation for Rare Disorders (TFRD) has participated in some way to celebrate this day. This year, TFRD will commemorate this day by holding a soccer match. With the help and collaboration of private company, TFRD will hold a sports event, exclusively for people with rare diseases and their families.
In the light of 2018 FIFA World Cup, TFRD plans to have a soccer game. In the past, it has conducted basketball and baseball games in 2016 and 2017 respectively, successfully arousing the interest of many families with member(s) who has/have a rare disease. This year March 10, at Nankang Sports Center, TFRD is holding a parent-child soccer camp, with adjusted game form and rules to fit participants. We hope this camp might allow people with rare diseases an opportunity to show off their sports talent and might also help them release tension as well as to celebrate 2018 Rare Disease Day.
