Our event highlight of “Rare Disease Day 2024 – Share Your Colours” was at 1-2pm on 29th Feb.
The event was officiated by a short speech given by hospital’s COO, followed by Clinical Geneticist and Genetic Counsellor, covering both English and Chinese language.
Besides, we had prize presentation to the top 30 winners for online quizzes that carried out throughout February. The objective was to increase awareness and knowledge about rare diseases among healthcare professional and the community.
Apart from displaying rare disease information and patient’s story, we created a “Share Your Colours” board to invite visitors to write supportive words to show support to patients and families living with rare diseases.
Educational booths were set up by two genetic test suppliers and two NGOs – Genetic Counselling Society Malaysia (GCSM) and Malaysia Rare Disorders Society (MRDS).
Our event was ended by video recording of the hospital staffs and vendors cheering the slogan “We support rare diseases.”
