Description
This year commemoration will be held on Friday 28th February at the Ummy Mwalimu Hall at Muhimbili National Hospital from 9am to 12 noon. The event is being organised by partners including:
1. Ali Kimara Rare Disease Foundation
2. Muhimbili National Hospital
3. Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences
4. Aga Khan Hospital
5. Aga Khan University
6. Tanzania Human Genetics Organisation
7. Paediatric Association of Tanzania
The event will bring together health workers, policy makers, researchers, students, media and patient communities. It will be an opportunity to hear from patients, health workers, researchers and policy makers on their experience with rare diseases in Tanzania. The Chief Guest is expected to be the Professor Mohammed Janabi who is Executive Director of Muhimbili National Hospital and the Tanzania nominee for WHO Regional Director for Africa.
