Rare Disease Day at SickKids 26 February 2021 , Canada
Hosted by SickKids

The last day of February is recognized worldwide as Rare Disease Day.  We at SickKids, are proud to join the many who are working towards providing faster diagnoses, advanced therapies, and ultimately cures for those families affected by rare disease.

On behalf of Can-Gard, SickKids Genetics & Genome Biology and Clinical & Metabolic Genetics, we invite you to join us, virtually, on February 26, 2021, Rare Disease Day @ SickKids. This year's theme will be "Advancing diagnosis and treatment for rare musculoskeletal disorders".

We are delighted to announce Dr. Matthew Warman, MD, Boston Children's Hospital will be our keynote speaker.
Dr. Matthew Warman is the Harriet M. Peabody Professor of Genetics and Orthopedic Surgery at Harvard Medical School, Boston, and Director of the Orthopedic Research Laboratories at Boston Children’s Hospital. He received a Sc.B. in Engineering from Brown University in Rhode Island and an M.D. from Cornell University in New York.
Dr. Warman’s research focuses on patients with genetic diseases that affect the skeleton. These diseases include Mendelian disorders, such as Progressive Pseudorheumatoid Arthropathy of Childhood, and non-heritable conditions caused by somatic mutation, such as Klippel-Trenaunay syndrome.

Your hosts, Drs. Monica Justice, Roberto Mendoza and Jim Dowling will kickstart this extraordinary event at 11:30 AM which will also include welcoming remarks from our SickKids' President & CEO, Dr. Ronni Cohn.
