Rare Disease Day was celebrated for the first time in Nigeria in 2017! A day of talks was held to increase understanding of rare diseases and the problems facing Nigerian patients. Topics included how society could change its attitude to rare disease patients, as well as the need for funding for rare disease research.
Rare Disease Day 2020 was marked in Nigeria with a Reframe Rare poetry event for all members of the Rare Disease community.
