Libya first participated in Rare Disease Day in 2016. In 2017, paediatricians from different specialities gave talks raising awareness of the challenges they face at diagnosing and treating rare diseases.
To mark Rare Disease Day 2020 Libya held a meeting for doctors, medical students and decision makers to discuss issues around Rare Disease and work on the creation of a database of rare cases in the country. The message of ‘stronger together’ was shared nationally.
