Cameroon

Since Rare Disease Day was first observed in 2010, a diverse range of events has been held to raise awareness and to help people living with a rare disease. These include everything from fashion shows to marches and from seminars to free consultations for patients. On 28 February 2017, Cameroon celebrated the opening of the first centre for rare diseases in the country! La Maison des Maladies Rares, run by the Association de Lutte contre les Maladies rares, les maladies Orphelines et le Handicap en Afrique, will offer support and advice to rare disease patients and their families.
