Botswana participated in Rare Disease Day for the first time in 2017, with the launch of the first organisation for rare diseases in the country on 28 February.Â
Rare Disease Day 2019 included an event for pediatricians to educate on the recognition of symptoms and the challenges and opportunities associated with treating children with rare diseases.
