In Tanzania, patient organisations held events for Rare Disease Day for the first time in 2016! A talk with Ali Kimara was held to raise awareness in Tanzania and to bring together people living with a rare disease and their loved ones. Other events have included online video campaigns to raise awareness.
In 2020, a commemoration discussion was held to advocate for the consideration and inclusion of rare disease in the health and education policies to support children with rare diseases in Tanzania.
