The story of Miriam
My name is Miriam and I did discover only last year on the of 32 that I have CVID. Since I was born I was getting often sick, getting time to recover and a lot of infections. I was 20 that I have been to the hospital with 5000 platelets only. Got campylobacter, giardia , helicobacter, chicken pox ( twice) , sinus problem , chronic cough , ear infections , heartburn . Every day for me was a new day in the fight with my body . After 4 years of every day cough I got diagionised with CVID plus no b-cells . Told me I was lucky to reach till that age without any medications. I am doing CUVITRU at home a subcutaneous infusion once a week for all the rest of my life. I was scared , I still I am . Even though my quality life exceptactions has increased I am still coughing every day ( which is becoming hard ) , waking up with eyes full of mucus and having digestive problems. Sometimes I am tired to accept that but all my strength come from my mind do you why ? Every time I ask myself why me ? I reply to my self: I am lucky because I am alive, I am glad to be here. That for 32 years I did survive without medications and even doctors were impressed in fact are studying my DNA. So I am felling blessed and for sure unique. I will keep my smile on and keep fighting with my body
