The story of Finnley
Finnley may look like a typical 8 year old boy, but his genetic mutation is far from typical. Ever since he was born he was sick off and on with fevers and infections that would come and go. With constant pain, inflammation, days of blindness, bouts of sickness and high 106 fevers his whole life he was starting to feel discouraged with his quality of life at just 5 years old. With dr dismissal for years, he was FINALLY diagnosed with Familial Mediterranean fever. However, due to his mutation being one of two people in medical literature, the specialists mention he may have a disease that is not discovered yet. Just like the Rare Disease warriors celebrating today, Finnley has been so brave, patient and humble through this lifelong journey with his rare disease.
