Kinderspitex currently cares for, looks after and monitors around 300 seriously ill and multiply disabled children in 19 cantons in Switzerland and the Fürstentum of Liechtenstein. With 230
employees and over 79,000 hours of care per year, we are the largest Kinderspitex in Switzerland.
We provide specialized care services during a period precisely defined by the insurance partners. During the “remaining” time, parents are responsible for the care of their child. Kinderspitex
enables parents to have hours or days of respite by taking over the care services. Nurses from Kinderspitex take over the care and supervision. Unfortunately, many mandatory care services are not financed by insurers such as health insurance or disability insurance (IV), nor by municipalities or cantons. The costs are covered by us or by donations from private individuals, foundations, parishes and companies. Thus, we are urgently and to a large extent dependent on donations.
