The story of Kaarina
My story starts at 25 years old, where I was diagnosed with systemic scleroderma and PBC five days apart. I stopped working and started my life as a patient. I tried going back to school, tried working short term jobs, but my body was having none of it. I just kept getting sicker.Â
Then, in October 2018, I was diagnosed with CTEPH. In May I had PTE surgery. But then I went back to hospital in August, where I’ve been since. I had developed PAH as well, secondary to scleroderma. I finally had a double lung transplant in October 2019.Â
