The story of Chloe
I am 20 years old and have had Avascular Necrosis of the right femoral hip head since I was 7 years old. I cannot remember much of when the doctor first diagnosed me but I do remember him saying I would not be able to walk till I was 15. I was in a wheel chair till I was 10 due to the middle school I was attending not being wheel chair accessible.Â
Walking again without assistance was a bit difficult at first but I learned that it helped lessen the pain. When I turned 15, my hip did not bother me as often and so it was pushed to the back of my mind. I had a few flare ups here and there like when it would rain my hip and knee would hurt but nothing too serious. Now it has decided to start hurting so bad that I have been limping and cannot get into my dorm room bed with out pain. It has been this way for a month and I was told on my last check up that a total hip replacement might be my next step. Besides the usual pain that comes with this disease, I experience pain in my knne and hip joints when it is cold and rainy.
My case, I was told, is considered rare due to the age I was diagnosed and the fact that I am female. And I have a short stature due to this disease. Â
