The story of Megan
I was diagnosed with Tarlov cyst in 2010. I had my first spine surgery to fenestrate 2 of those cysts in 2011. I had some relief but over time I developed more symptoms. Turns out I had another cyst. My symptoms from this cyst were continously ignored because my doctor doesnt believe they are symptomatic. I was told that surgery failed, that the cysts were not the cause of my pain, that I just had mechanical back pain and fibromyalgia. Because my back pain was continuusly ignored in 2017 I had a disc prolapse, leading to another spine surgery. The cyst still remains and now no have cauda equina syndrome, another rare disease that affects about 7 in 100,000 people.
