The story of Nikki
My daughter is diagnosed with a rare metabolic disorder spcd (systematic primary carnitine deficiency) she almost died at the age of 14 months due to a dramatic drop in blood sugar (hypoglycemia) she survived and is still doing alright. We face many challenges because of this such as; hypoglycemia, muscle weakness, trouble feeding, and low weight gain/low growth rate. It can cause irreversible organ damage of not caught in time. Very scary thing for us and it is so hard to find people who have experienced this. Her father and I are very grateful for her to be alive today.
