About Rare Disease Day at the Faculty of Biology, University of Warsaw
The principal goal of Rare Disease Day at the Faculty of Biology, as well as worldwide celebrations, is to increase consciousness and understanding of rare diseases. That is why our Day is dedicated predominantly to high school students. But we would also like to attract young adults, adults, and everyone interested in the subject of rare diseases, but not having biomedical education.
Our concept of the Day is to present not only scientific and medical, but also patients’ perspective of rare diseases. One might say that the possibility of conversation with more than one rare disease patient at one place is rather unique and unprecedented, especially for people outside the medical circle. In addition to excellent lectures, we believe that our Event could become one of the most important consciousness shaping and subject promoting event related to rare diseases in Poland.
