About Hypersomnolence Australia
Hypersomnolence Australia’s primary purpose is to support the medical community work towards a better understanding of the rare neurological disorder Idiopathic Hypersomnia (IH), better access to effective treatment options, and identifying biomarkers that will lead to more appropriate diagnostic tools and ultimately a cure for Idiopathic Hypersomnia. We are committed to being a strong advocate, raising awareness and educating others about Idiopathic Hypersomnia.
Our goal is to not just change the process to diagnosis but also the level of care and services available to people post diagnosis. We take advantage of Rare Disease Day to help us reach our goals by sharing information and stories online and by encouraging others in the IH community to do so too. We will be hosting our regular Living with Idiopathic Hypersomnia support group meeting on 15th Feb where we will discuss what living with a rare disease is like and what we do to help overcome the obstacles.
