Social work is a practice-based profession and an academic discipline that promotes social change and development, social cohesion, and the empowerment and liberation of people. Principles of social justice, human rights, collective responsibility and respect for diversities are central to social work. Underpinned by theories of social work, social sciences, humanities and indigenous knowledges, social work engages people and structures to address life challenges and enhance wellbeing.
The aim of our department is tı train social workers who plan, organize and implement sozial work programs. Graduates work one of the social work field such as child, youth, elderly, disabled, phscal / psychological health etc. They also work as practitioner or policy maker at ministiries such as Famly and Social Policy, justice, Health etc.
Social workers provide preventive or rehabilitative/therapeutic services, including people living at the urban or city centre; employees or unemployed people; children; teenagers; adults; old people; patients; disabled people; criminals; individuals and groups abused in need of protection. Social workers also take part on fixing and changing plans, policies and laws which effect to occur about all these social problems.
