About Liga Interdisciplinar de Genética Médica da Universidade Federal de São Carlos(UFSCar)/Interdisciplinary Group of Medical Genetics Of The Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar)
The Interdisciplinary Group of Medical Genetics (Liga Interdisciplinar de Genética Médica, LIGeM) is a non-profit entity, linked to the Department of Medicine from the Federal University of São Carlos (Universidade Federal de São Carlos, UFSCar), constituted by students from the undergraduate courses of medicine, nursing, biotechnology, biology, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, special education, psychology and gerontology, and coordinated by Professor Débora Gusmão Melo, a medical geneticist.
The LIGeM aims to provide a deeper understanding of genetic diseases and birth defects through experiences related to educational and health care in the individual, familial and community scope.
