About Running On Air
Running On Air was founded by Mary Rose Kitlowski. Mary has a rare lung disease called Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia (PCD). Mary enjoys running. Because of her lung functions though (about 40% of normal) she has to wear oxygen.
We are raising awareness about PCD the PCD Foundation, other lung diseases and rare diseases. PCD is a rare disease that affects the cilia, the little hairs that line the lungs, sinuses and are present in some other areas of the body. There are less than 500 confirmed diagnosis in the US, although it is estimated that 25,000 people have the disease.
