The story of Pennie
My daughter’s story started after hip replacement revision surgery.
Six days post op her right leg became paralysed and she was in excruciating pain. The following day she was taken back to the operating theatre. Her sciatic nerve had been crushed by adhesions and adhered to her pelvis in two places. They released the sciatic nerve but the damage was done. After this she was diagnosed with CRPS Type 2 and lost the use of her lower leg as the nerve was so badly damaged it killed the sural and tibial nerves in her lower leg. 1 year later my daughter had a below knee amputation so she was not confined to a wheelchair.
This wasn’t for the pain. She has a spine stimulator implanted which only helps 30% of the pain and a bladder stimulator as she became incontinent. It’s a hard journey ahead but we hold onto hope 🙏 🥹
