About LAPA: The Latin America Patients Academy (LAPA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization registered in the United States with EIN 83-2943466, dedicated to capacity building in public health policy for patient organization leaders across the region.
LAPA promotes the training of health leaders at the highest academic level, engaging international experts and fostering dialogue spaces and communities of practice to enhance patient participation in health decision-making.
LAPA has worked in collaboration with global public health experts to train more than 350 patient organizations in 15 Latin American countries. www.lapaonline.org.
Summary of the Regional Meeting on Rare Diseases in Latin America
In commemoration of Rare Disease Day, Latin America Patients Academy (LAPA) and the Andean Health Organization – ORAS CONHU organized the Regional Meeting on Rare Diseases in Latin America, bringing together public health experts, patient organization representatives, and health policy leaders. The event aimed to address the region’s challenges and opportunities to improve access to and quality of care for people living with rare diseases.
