The story of Jim
My name is Jim. I was diagnosed w/male breast cancer in May 2013. There was no history of breast cancer in my family. I had a masectomy & a year of chemo therapy treatments. I was on an estrogen blocker medication for 10 yrs. I was 65 when I was diagnosed. I felt a small pea-size round thing under my left breast. Did not delay. Went to the dr, he sent me for a mammogram & the rest is history. I want both men & women to know that men di get breast cancer. Compared to women getting it, yes the numbers are more than significantly lower but more deadly. Men tend to ignore any symptoms & delay getting checked out. The. Ortalkty rate of breast cancer is higher in men than women. So, next time you see ALL THAT PINK for breast cancer, remember there is also a stream of blue! It’s not all women & it’s not all pink. Thanks. 💙🩷
